New site coming, and The Reptilian BoM

I'm trying to get a new site put together that will hopefully be a bit more helpful than this. You can check out out at www.LCF-Ind.com. It will have build files, more in-depth rundowns of each module, and just general updates. In the mean time here's a BoM of the Reptilian Kit.

Note: Some of the breakout boards in the kits will already have the 5-pin connector soldered to it. There was a misprint on the some of the boards so I soldered the wires in place to avoid any confusion.

How The Reptilian works

So I had a few people ask how exactly the Reptilian works, so here is a quick example. It uses two comparator stages to create intentional "cross-over distortion" I'll go deeper into it later with a video but for now enjoy this diagram.

The Reptilian: Now available!

Over the past few months I've been getting a lot of people asking me when I would have Reptilians to sell. Well, after a long wait I finally have them ready to ship! It is available as an assembled module or as a kit.

The Reptilian is a voltage controlled distortion/waveshaper. It uses comparators to create crossover distortion to distort/shape the incoming signal, adding harmonics. A passive low-pass filter helps round out square-wave-like waveforms which are sometimes difficult to alter, due to the nature of comparators. The module uses two crossover distortion stages, the first one is capable of being controlled via CV.

The Reptilian: VC Distortion/Waveshaper

I finally got around to finishing another module. The Reptilian! A voltage controlled distortion/waveshaper. It uses crossover distortion to add harmonics and distort/shape the incoming signal in interesting ways.

Shift: This sets the initial crossover distortion amount by offsetting the positive and negative peaks to their opposites.

Bias-X: Adds harmonics to the signal with another stage of cross-over distortion. The harmonics are sweepable.

CV: The Bias-X can be voltage controlled.

Level: Boosts and cuts the output signal. Center is unity.

Lowpass: A passive lowpass to the incoming signal. Helpful with square waveforms, that are usually absent of of a defined crossover point to the signal.

Arp-8 to be released in a few days.

You can soon purchase an Arp-8 module on Etsy 9/29/14. Why Etsy? Well, I currently can only afford to do a small run of modules. This will fund future, larger-scale, production runs. As well as give me the opportunity to manufacture other modules.

The price is $180. I'll put the link up once its posted. Or you can look up the store LCF Industries, on the site the day it goes on sale.
